Lost Child on an Outing
(Policy and Procedure No.42 Paragraph 8 refers)
If a child is lost on an outing whilst in the care of Millfield Pre-school (MPS), a senior member of staff will:
a. Inform the security personnel on the premises so that they may initiate their Lost Child Procedure.
b. Assemble staff and children in a secure area, without causing undue panic.
c. Maintain the correct staff to child ratios.
d. Remaining adults/staff will conduct a search of the premises.
e. If the child is not found, call the police to conduct a search.
f. Contact the parents/carers to inform them of the situation.
g. Inform all relevant parties of findings, implications and outcome.
